REVOlife: The LAUNCH
REVOlife! What is this about? We at Revopackers believe in the goodness of sharing positive vibes! We want your stay to be more meaningful by being inspired by other travellers who stay with us, so along the way we will share you some of our guest experiences in this blog! :) So, here is the start by sharing with you a little about us ! We are a small team who runs the hostel & are still progressively building our hostel. We are humble & still learning from every little mistake we make. Here is an honest and open piece from Andrea [ Me ;) ] as the co-founder of Revopackers.
How I started Revopackers!
First let me share with you the story on how Revopackers came to life :)

The dream was first envisioned by myself when I was still taking my Degree locally in Malaysia. During the time, I had the honour represent my country to compete in Dodgeball Tournaments so I managed to travel to HongKong & New Zealand. Then, I went for a study trip to France as well! From those few travelling experiences, it sparked a curiousity in me to open up a hostel back in Malaysia and that was back in 2013.

Fast forward ahead, along as a studied I found I had a real passion for the hospitality industry and I wanted to start a business of my own, either a cafe or any form of accomodation. I had planned to start a cafe first while and perhaps only start an accommodation business when I'm probably 30! :P So anyway! Aside from travelling, I gained some experience interning in 5 star hotels from being the little commis in the cold kitchen all the way to being a supervisor in the houskeeping department. I went through so much fun learning from the tough times and all the great opportunities mentored by my managers.
Then came the day! I graduated so there I was eager to change the world to a better place! Believing in worklife balance and the importance of every individual being appreciated no matter what race, what gender or what career line. I joined into one the 5 star hotels again and pursued a career in the Food & Beverage line but unfortunately it wasn't what I expected it to be, so after a while I moved on and tried out a different kind of F&B establishment. I joined a small cafe called Mr&Ms Cafe, which was awesome as small as it was, it was really a good place for me to learn how things are done and the owner there was super kind and willing to teach! Now that I'm not working for her, we have become friends :) Please if you have the opportunity visit them Mr&Ms Cafe in Oasis Ara Damansara! Well after working about 8months in the cafe, I felt it was time for me to do something of my own so as I planned for my cafe, I went around doing small consulatations for start ups in the Cafe world! :) That was fun but surely I had a disadvantage being young and new in the industry. So in the end things didn't work out and I had to put a pause on my cafe dream, sigh.... it was a little dissapointing after trying and working on it for almost a year. BUT! then Praise the Lord! all a sudden I got the opportunity to start an accomodation business with my current business partner!! It happened pretty unplanned with just casual conversations and simple brainstorming we suddenly found that this hostel business is really workable! There in around February 2015, we began to arrange to start the hostel planning, going through our financial planning, layout planning, vision planting, mission goals and all of that! It went on till about June and we were ready to start renovating the place in August 2015! Finally after the wait! Revopackers Opened our doors on 16th October 2015. That was the journey opening up Revopackers but there is an identity behind all of it! :) Check out here for it!
